The most influential person on my journey to Naturopathic Medicine was my mother. I admire her compassion for others and research into alternative medicine which helped shape my personal journey. She influenced me with her curiosity for natural remedies as well as utilizing knowledge from her handy herbal book before taking me and my sisters to allopathic doctors. During college, I found my interest in psychology and whole-person healing. I began to understand the therapeutic “one on one” relationship could really address a multitude of concerns. I then shifted my internal focus from biology to health psychology and ultimately Naturopathic Medicine which I was introduced to during my undergraduate education.
I have had an interest in dermatology and naturopathic aesthetics since graduating from Bastyr University. I managed the spa at Yellowstone Naturopathic Clinic during part of my residency and it was during residency that it became a passion for me. I am amazed at the inherent healing ability of the body and this reinforced my choice to investigate natural treatments for aesthetics. It was accelerated by the recognition that the realm of natural-based cosmetics and techniques was underexplored in the naturopathic field. I have since integrated facial PRP, micro-needling, and laser treatments (LASEMD and Clarity) into my practice and found that they are highly effective.
In clinical practice, I treat a multitude of skin concerns, GI concerns, fertility, perimenopause/menopause as well as joint injuries and pain. I love seeing clients being able to pursue their passion whether it's in the mountains or with their children and grandchildren. Movement truly is medicine, and my motivation to share this work is seeing people in less pain and more joyful about being in their body.
