Manual and Movement Therapy

KNOWLEDGEABLE . DEDICATED . COMPASSIONATE

As an adult, when is the last time you remember your body feeling amazing. When is the last time without thought, you were capable of running, jumping, doing cartwheels or hanging upside down without pain or restriction. When we watch young children playing effortlessly at the playground, we are reminded that we once were like that, defying gravity, going from one activity to the next, our bodies moving without any hesitation and bursting with energy.

In retrospect, children are not born that way. Let's take a quick look at our development over the first year of life. We are born dependent on another human for every aspect of life. Our muscles are weak and undeveloped. During that first year of life, we achieve several developmental milestones as we learn to overcome gravity, first by lifting our heads, rolling, crawling, pulling up to standing, and finally taking our first steps to start walking.

These developmental milestones are hardwired into our DNA, prompting a natural progression from one stage to the next, until we are able to run and play without regard of what has to happen neurologically to make this happen. Unfortunately, the peak of our early development doesn't last long. We start to succumb to lifestyle behaviors, injuries, and a host of other circumstances beyond our control that derail our dynamic stability, robbing us of the joy of uninhibited movement.

Just as people have a family doctor who may care for children throughout their growth and development, many people have a family chiropractor. I believe that chiropractic is so much more than injury rehab and recovery from pain. With a passionate focus on movement, I inspire change and help people get back to their best life.

We don’t stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop play.

Experience counts. With 11 years of bodywork experience, I have a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology. I use gentle, proven techniques, both cranial & structural to get excellent results that will balance and reactivate your body for optimum function.

I create balance — not only in your joints, but in your mind, all the places in your life where you feel pain or restrictions – so you can move with more power and freedom. My work activates the parasympathetic nervous system to help you relax and recover from the overstimulation of life.

“They can’t slow down because they use their routine to distract themselves. To reduce life to only its practical considerations. And they do this to avoid recalling how uncertain they are about why they live.” ⁣-James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy)⁣

I believe in:

  • good clear communications with you, I focus on your individual goals and needs.
  • I provide a detailed assessment then a diagnosis is made followed by a hands-on therapeutic treatment specific to your needs.
  • I like to communicate with you so you know exactly what is happening and assure you feel safe and trusted with my cranial and gentle chiropractic treatments.

I use the orthopedic & functional assessment which is a systematic and thorough evaluation process that examines functional movement patterns. It identifies dysfunctions, imbalances, and compensations in the body, with the goal of uncovering the root causes of pain and movement restrictions.

I use this method to address:

  • Muscle imbalances: identifying and correcting muscle imbalances that can lead to overuse injuries
  • Joint dysfunctions: pinpointing joint problems that hinder optimal movement and function
  • Postural issues: correcting postural imbalances that contribute to chronic discomfort and injuries
  • Gait abnormalities: analyzing and addressing walking and running patterns that can lead to lower extremity injuries
  • Functional limitations: assessing movement restrictions that hinder athletic performance
  • Repetitive stress injuries: identifying sources of overuse injuries and developing strategies to prevent recurrence
  • Hip impingement: evaluating hip joint function and potential impingement issues
  • Spinal dysfunctions: assessing spinal alignment and mobility
  • Shoulder impingement: identifying shoulder joint issues and movement restrictions
  • Knee alignment: evaluating knee joint alignment and potential problems
  • Ankle instability: assessing ankle stability and potential risk factors
  • Lumbar instability: pinpointing issues related to lower back stability
  • Overhead mobility issues: evaluating overhead range of motion and addressing limitations

If you want specialized, one on one care, and are interested in living an extraordinary lifestyle through mindfulness and health, I'd love to serve you.

A mind at peace, is a body resilient.
