Nutritional Foundations with Persephone

This low-cost session is an intro or review of Foundational Health concepts as relates to your specific health journey. Over 10 years of health coaching, I have found that I have the same conversation over and over with separate and individual clients so I have condensed my basic introductory session down into the most important root points.

At the core of all health issues is blood sugar balance and oxidative stress so expect these to feature highly in our conversation. We will also talk about macronutrients and micronutrients and take a look at your typical day’s food and where you may need to rebalance.

If you have specific questions about particular health issues or diagnoses, I can make recommendations around food and supplements - remembering of course, that I am a nutritionist, not a doctor!

This is a basic coaching session and doesn’t include any meal plans, recipes, or checklists. Please come to our session with a notepad and pen and be ready to take notes! I can record our session if you’d like and send you the playback.

In order to get as much out of our hour together as possible, I’ll email you beforehand asking for some info from you:

Age
Gender (at birth and current)
Height/weight
Any specific health issues you want to address
Any diagnoses you currently have
Medications you are taking
Supplements you are taking

And the hardest part of your pre-session homework: A 24-hour recall of the food you eat on a typical day! You can include as many examples of what you may eat for various meals and snacks on a regular basis - I know you don’t eat the exact same thing every day!

You don’t absolutely have to do this pre-session homework, but we’ll be able to cover more ground in our session if I’m able to lay eyes on this information ahead of time.

What to expect in a meeting: During our session, we’ll have a conversation about where you are in your health journey and what your health goals are. We’ll go over your 24-hour food recall (what you typically eat on a regular basis) and I’ll comment on macronutrient imbalances or micronutrient insufficiencies. I’ll talk you through a primer on why blood sugar balance is foundational to health every single day and how oxidative stress is probably contributing to whatever issues you’re working on. I will suggest specific foods to add in or avoid, and supplements to bridge nutritional gaps in your diet. I will also address stress levels, sleep, moods, and whether you have enough connection and joy in your life - and provide an understanding of how it’s all related to your biochemistry. If you need a deeper dive, I can recommend my favorite doctors, podcasts, and books for your ongoing research.
