The gut brain axis is a fairly new concept, however further research goes beyond "you are what you eat". The idea of eating foods to improve mood, energy and cognitive function is just the beginning. In this session we will go over what foods to include as well what foods slow you down in every aspect. I will cover the microbiome theory of the gut to brain relationship (includes cardio health as well) "The Three BRAINS theory". I will cover the Vagus nerve to the nervous system relationship in which what you fuel your body with matters though out your day. We will cover lists of foods that fuel the feel good chemicals in the brain as well as timing to consume them. I will cover different types of fibers insoluble and soluble. We will discuss the roles of these fibers and how they can affect the way you feel mentally/GI. In this session we will cover ways to combine healthy foods at one meal to increase their benefits with lessening glycemic spike and more. I will incorporate the right fats and low glycemic foods that provide you the mental clarity you need to get through your work day or be your best for your family. In this session I will share lists of foods for each topic covered as well as references to learn more. I cover mindfulness while eating and how, how you eat matters to overall digestion. It's time to get more out of your diet to feed your gut and feed your brain what needs to feel it's best.
