You can't build a house without a foundation, you can't read until you know your letters, you can't dive into the deep end without knowing how to swim. In order to remain safe in both your fitness routine and your daily life, getting back to body and movement basics is essential!
In a world driven by technological advancements and sedentary lifestyles, getting back to body basics is essential for preventing injuries and maintaining overall health. Our bodies are designed for movement, and understanding and respecting their fundamental needs can make a significant difference in injury prevention and overall well-being.
I'm not sure how such extreme workouts have become so popular, but they can be scary, frustrating, ineffective and dangerous if they're not for you. Let's learn what it is that may be happening to cause injury, so we can change it. If you've been injured, let's make sure it doesn't happen again. Let's learn about our body and optimize it's potential. Let's build a book of knowledge for positive habits specific to you. One key to sustainable good health, exercise and movement is building up habits that align with YOUR goals and what you actually enjoy.
What could you be doing more of or what could you be doing less of in your day? Has your physical therapist discharged you after quality sessions, but hasn't given a solid guide to continuing on your own?
Some of topics we can discuss may include but are not limited to:
- review of Dr. meetings or physical therapy sessions
- common 'conditions'
- current status of where you feel like you are now
- short and long term goals
- easy vs challenging adjustments
- free options
- biggest concerns
- do you have an effective self-care routine
- how much time do you have
- terms to be mindful of, for example "hurt" and "pain"
- how has your history been effecting your now
Topic suggestions high on my list are usually:
1. Understanding your muscles and body Mechanics
2. What is our core?
3. Flexibility and Stretching
4. The difference between stability and mobility
5. Gradual progression
6. Proper warm-up and cool down
7. Why a proper warm-up is so important
8. Eating habits
9. Understanding YOUR body
I have been in the health and fitness arena for a really long time and I truly love helping people figure it out. I like to work out smarter rather than harder because sometimes time is an issue. I utilize all of the small components of health and fitness, so attacking the bigger ones are less challenging. I truly believe it can be so easy if you want it to be.
By returning to the body basics, you can build a strong foundation for injury prevention and overall health.
How can I help you?!
