Hello! My name is Tyler and I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
I have dealt with anxiety for a majority of my life, and it became worse during pregnancy and postpartum. After learning more about the gut-brain connection, I realized how much nutrition and lifestyle impacts my mental health. I am passionate about sharing this knowledge, and helping people decrease their stress and anxiety.
Your gut microbiome is made up of microbes, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. A balanced gut aids in a balanced body, whereas imbalances in the gut are the root of many diseases and chronic illnesses. Your gut microbiome has many beneficial functions including;
Protecting the gut barrier integrity
Supporting the breakdown of various macromolecules into useful compounds
Stimulating digestion
Producing key nutrients for various physiological processes
A diversified diet helps support a diversified microbiome. Here are some other ways you can support your gut health;
Incorporating fermented foods, omega 3’s and fiber into your diet
Adding gentle movement throughout your day
Daily meditation or breathwork to minimize stress
Minimize medications when possible*
Adding probiotic supplementation may be beneficial*
- Always consult with your doctor or healthcare professional before making any changes to your medication. You can also discuss adding in probiotics to help minimize or prevent GI distress that may result from some antibiotics.
In this session, we will review diet and lifestyle changes that support your gut health, and therefore your mental (and physical) health. We focus on adding in the healthy habits, which in turn crowd out the habits that do not serve you. Questions? Feel free to message me!
