Customized Personal Training Programs with Scott

Have you ever wanted to start a workout program but weren't sure where to begin? Maybe you've purchased costly gym memberships in the past only to get there without a plan. This mistake likely lead to wasted time roaming from machine to machine not taking full advantage of your time and potential. If so, you're not alone. On average, 50% of individuals who begin a workout program quit within the first 6 months. Reasons for this are numerous, but most report that they simply got bored or were frustrated with a lack of results. This is unfortunate and it doesn't need to happen.

The overwhelming majority of gym goers go to the gym without a plan. For those who use the gym just to get their minds off of the daily grind, or to blow off some steam that's fine. But for those who have goals of losing weight, changing their overall body composition or developing increased muscular strength, endurance or size, going to the gym without a plan is like a mountaineer heading into the unknown without a map or supplies. It just won't end in success.

The human body is an amazing thing and when trained properly it has the ability to respond, adapt and grow exactly how you want it to. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach who works with clients at home as well as in a gym setting, I have the knowledge and experience to help you find success no matter where you choose to begin your fitness journey.

What this package includes

This is a three session package. Each with one building upon the previous and will put you in a position to succeed in the gym. Whether your gym is a conventional big box gym or your basement you'll be set up for success. While each session has specific goals, I'm here as a resource for you and will answer any fitness related questions you may have.

Session 1

Your first session begins with a simple but crucial conversation. It's important to know where you're coming from if we're going to come up with a customized plan that's engaging and sustainable. We'll discuss your past experiences with working out, this could include experiences you've had - if any - with personal training or structured exercise as a whole, concerns you have both short and long term, as well as your goals and expectations. We'll also discuss the concepts of BMI, Body Fat Index and how to take proper body composition measurements as a way to gauge your progress over time. We'll also briefly discuss your current nutrition habits and how they align with your goals so that I can create a customized macronutrient profile for you. The session will end with you completing a PAR-Q+ and HHQ (Physical Activity Readiness and Health History Questionnaire). This is also a great time for you to ask any questions you may have!

Session 2

Our second session will consist primarily of some basic assessments that will determine your baseline for static posture and movement deficiencies or compensations - if any exist. These assessments are important for many reasons, including giving me an idea what muscles may be in need of strengthening or flexibility training as well as demonstrating your average range of motion, stability, coordination and control of movement. Session 2 is also a great time to record those body composition measurements that we briefly discussed in session 1.

Session 3

Your third and final session begins with an introduction to your personalized fitness program. We'll discuss the plan that's been developed for you based on your needs, goals and lifestyle as well as how it will progress over time. Before beginning your program I'll help you get acclimated to any equipment that you may need to use throughout your program. For beginner clients or those with new equipment this is extremely important to prevent injury and to maximize results. Once you're ready we will work through your training program virtually. If you're working out at home make sure that you've got good lighting and are able to move your camera around so that I can bests observe your form. If working out at a gym it's best to have a tripod of some type or have a partner to film for you. The goal of the third session is to proceed through your workout program while learning proper form and execution of movement patterns, so the workout itself may be abbreviated so that we can complete each exercise in the scheduled time.

What happens after my final session?

Your ability to connect with and use me as a coach/trainer/resource doesn't end after your final session. I will always be available to work with you by purchasing single sessions. These affordable sessions are great for following up on your program or to ask nutrition questions as they relate to your macros. Since our bodies begin to adapt over time, it's also a good idea to switch things up every now and then. Additional single sessions are a great time to reevaluate and adjust your program accordingly.
