Weight loss is a difficult topic for many to talk about and with good reason. You may have tried fad diet after fad diet and every Instagram workout that's come across your feed, yet you still struggle to see any progress. It's easy to get discouraged. As a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach I've heard it plenty of times, "I just can't lose weight". The truth is, provided no specific health conditions exist, you CAN lose weight. You may just need a little help and some knowledge that you may not have otherwise had.
According to the CDC, 60% of Americans are either overweight or obese. The worst part about that alarmingly high number is that 42% of adults and nearly 20% of children (ages 2-9) are obese. But it doesn't have to be that way.
In this session we will work together to evaluate your past and come up with a plan for your future. We'll discuss what you've done that has or hasn't worked, what your strengths and weaknesses are, what your current nutrition looks like and what the barriers tend to be that prevent successful weight loss, from environmental and cultural to economic, lifestyle and societal. We'll also discuss the importance of understanding how to properly read nutrition labels and why protein is essential for fat loss not simply muscle gain, why not all fats are created equal and why carbs aren't the boogeyman you may have always been told. You'll leave this session with knowledge and a detailed plan complete with a macronutrient profile to work with.
