Meditation for Distraction: The Practice of Returning with Sam

These days, there are so many distractions to pull us away from the task at hand. Whether it's social media, the endless to-do list, or the anxiety inherent to being a human person, it can feel like we're pulled in every direction but forward. Through mindfulness and meditation, we can begin to create space around our distractibility and fully invest in the present.

In this session we will use mindfulness techniques to notice when we are distracted, and return to the present moment. We will also use pranayama (breath management) techniques to expand our mental faculties and teach our brains to fall in love with the present moment, by way of creating space around our mental chatter.

What to expect in a meeting: We will spend the first fifteen minutes getting to know each other and our goals for the session. Then we will find our meditation seat and do a 25-30 minute practice. Afterwards there will be time for journaling and any further questions about the practice, mindfulness, or focus!
