Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Change with Janice

Evidence had shown that lifestyle change can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle change can be cost effective by preventing disease with improved health, fewer trips to the ER, doctors office, Pharmacy, and other related health care costs.
If you have been diagnosed with or are at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes, this 4-session class can help you make the changes needed to make the necessary lifestyle changes. Not sure what to eat and what portions sizes are correct. Learn what your plate should look like.
4 Sessions we will touch on topics to help you identify areas for change and make those lifestyle changes.
Session 1- Getting Started- We will identify ways to make healthy choices, habits, label reading and setting SMART goals.
Session 2- Get Moving- Ways to move your body more, physical activity you will do. How long your should do physical activity that fits your lifestyle and setting SMART goals.
Session 3- Carbs, Sugar, and Fat what do they mean you your diet. Simple carbs, Complex carbs, where and how to find sugar and fat in your food.

Session 4- Motivation- We will explore what motivates you, how to stay motivated and how to deal with setbacks and missteps and setting SMART goals.
Blood tests are the most accurate way to diagnose if you are in the pre-diabetes range. The blood test used are as follows.
• A1c between 5.7%-6.4%, does not need to be fasting.
• Blood test 100mg– 125mg/DL. Fasting blood sugar level test.
• Glucose test 140-199mg/DL. Measured before after drinking a liquid that contains glucose.
Your symptoms may include: feeling thirsty, hungry, extreme fatigue, slow to heal from cuts and bruises, blurry vision and tingling, pain, or numbness in hands or feet?
