Hello! I am Melissa, also known as @melilates. I am a Pilates Instructor and Nutrition Coach. I am very passionate about helping others reach their nutrition goals. For individual pilates classes, I recommend one to two sessions a week in order to make optimal progress.
Pilates first and foremost focuses on the core and spine. You core is everything from your shoulders to your pelvis, 360 degrees. In every class we work on strengthening and mobilizing your spine in all four directions: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation. Pilates also works on flexibility, mobility, breathing, mind-body connection, and so much more. Pilates is great to practice on its own, but it also pairs really well with other activities. If you are an athlete, pilates can enhance your athletic performance.
Since this is a personalized class, the sessions will depend on your level and your goal. I give mat pilates classes and I use props depending on what you have at home. This could include a small ball, exercise bands, yoga blocks, among others.

I am in Atlantic Standard Time. I am available for sessions Tuesdays 6pm-7pm, Wednesdays, 4:30pm-6:30pm, Thursdays 6:30pm-7:30pm, Fridays 5:30pm-6:30pm, and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.
