Mindful Eating with Lindsay

Do you feel “out of control” around food?
Do you have a hard time keeping your favorite foods in the house without eating it all right away?
Are you concerned about your weight, but have had trouble sticking to a diet?
Have you forgotten what real hunger actually feels like in your body?
Are you always eating while distracted, on the go, in a hurry, or while standing up?
Do you snack and graze throughout the day, even if you’re not hungry?
Do you typically eat without noticing or really enjoying the food?
Do you often eat until you’re WAY too full?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you would benefit from mindful eating!

What is Mindful Eating?

Mindful eating focuses on your eating experiences, including the body-related sensations before, during, and after eating, as well as your thoughts and feelings around food. It uses focused and heightened awareness around the eating experience and is free of judgment around both food and your body.

Benefits of Mindful Eating

  1. Increased awareness of hunger and fullness
  2. Reduced overeating and/or binging
  3. Increased satisfaction with food
  4. Decreased stress around food and food-related activities
  5. Improved digestion and reduction of digestive symptoms
  6. Healthier food choices
  7. Increased self-esteem and empowerment

While not always the case, weight loss is another common benefit of mindful eating due to a combination of the other benefits listed, like less overeating and healthier food choices.

I can attest, from both personal and professional experience, that learning how to eat mindfully will change the way you think about, eat, and experience food for the rest of your life! It’s time to stop listening to others about how and what to eat, and start listening to the wisdom of your own body!

In our Mindful Eating session, we’ll discuss your current relationship and experiences with food and eating. I’ll provide science-backed mindful eating tips, tricks, and practices that you can easily implement in your life every day. I’ll also walk you through a short, guided mindful eating activity designed to show you how eating mindfully can dramatically change your experience with food!
