Establishing and building healthy routines are important to helping you achieve your health goals and living a more balanced life.
Healthy routines and habits are important because they lead to more positive behaviors and improve quality of life. They help you to feel more grounded when life feels crazy. They allow you to not have to make a healthy decision for the majority of your day. So for example if you have your breakfast set the same time each day or your exercise already mapped out you aren’t scrambling last minute to figure out what you want to do. That can lead to making a quicker unhealthy meal or just not exercising at all. It saves on time too. Choosing a habit every day that you love like drinking lemon water in the morning or journaling before bed can also create a more positive mindset.
Building healthy routines starts with setting small goals or intentions. Usually, if you focus on a big goal in a short amount of time it’s more than likely to result in failure which is why a lot of the time resolutions don’t work out. If you focus on setting smaller goals each day or week you will feel more successful and because of that you will be more likely to stick with it.
Establishing routines seem like extra work but I promise starting small and just working on little rituals will make you feel better and make your daily life better.
