Welcome to Affinity Personalized Coaching, LLC. I consider myself a student of life. I’m constantly learning, growing, working on acceptance and ways to improve my own life. I’ve experienced a great deal of positives in my life and at the same time, I’ve experienced some of life’s most traumatic events. Gabby Bernstein calls them Big T traumas. Yet I have somehow managed to achieve goals I have set forth for myself while continually growing, succeeding, failing, and starting over.
My Mission
I am committed to honoring you as a whole person and following your lead with carefully curated questions, guidance, and support, personalized to who you are and your aspirations.
I seek to serve clients regardless of their gender, gender expression, ethnicity, social, or religious background. My goal is to deliver services with integrity and compassion.
Life Coaching Purpose
We live a thousand lives in one lifetime. Who you are today is not who you were a year ago, 10 years ago or even possibly an hour ago. Life continually ebbs, flows, and changes and the purpose of life coaching, to me, is to be a kind, compassionate supporter that asks the questions to help YOU learn more about yourself, achieve your goals, or find your purpose and passion. My role is not to tell you what to do or how to do it. My job is to support your agency by asking questions that honor the expert living inside of you.
About Me
I am a lifelong educator, mentor, and coach. I knew as a child I wanted to work in a field where I helped others because as an adopted child I often felt out of place and lost. What I really wanted was validation and someone to ask me the right questions, so I could figure things out on my own. This led me to choose a career as a teacher, a mentor to teachers, and a coach/counselor. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Educational Psychology. Through my career, I received extensive training in the art of listening to understand and using paraphrasing, clarifying, and mediational questions to help clients uncover barriers and challenges in their lives and plan how to move forward. I ask the questions that allow you to decide the direction and then serve as an impartial accountability partner and sounding board. I believe that unsolicited advice is nothing more than veiled judgment and criticism.
I am an adoptee, daughter, sister, mother through in-vitro fertilization treatments, aunt, ex-wife, lover, athlete, manager, director, woman, and fully formed, flawed human being. My (recovering) codependency and anxious attachment style ruled most of my adult life until I started owning my stuff and peeling back the layers of my childhood to understand myself, forgive myself and others, and begin to heal. I don’t believe that anyone achieves complete full healing. I believe life is a continuum we manage of growth, regression, healing, and evolution. Anything that isn’t growing, is dying.
After 25 years of professional experience in various levels of education, I am excited to continue my growth in the field of life coaching with the goal of helping as many people as possible overcome obstacles to achieve what it is they want. It's what I am meant to do.
