Burnout & Nervous System Reset Session

You spend so much of your life taking care of everyone else.
At some point, your own nervous system began to wave the white flag.

Whether you work in healthcare or another high pressure field, burnout does not mean you are weak or broken. It means your system has been in survival mode for too long.

This 75 minute Burnout and Nervous System Reset Session gives you a calm, structured space to slow down, understand what is really happening, and design a plan that your body and schedule can actually handle.

What we will do together

  1. Arrive and regulate
    We begin with gentle breath and body based grounding so your nervous system can shift out of constant fight, flight, or freeze. Many people feel more calm and present within the first few minutes.

  2. Map your burnout pattern
    We look at what burnout looks like in your real life, without judgment. Together we explore:
    • Current stress load at work and at home
    • Sleep rhythm and recovery, including night shift or rotating shifts
    • Food, caffeine, and stimulation patterns that may be driving fatigue
    • The stories and expectations that keep you pushing past your limits

This is a compassionate, whole person assessment. Nothing about you is treated as a problem to fix.

  1. Shift the language that keeps you stuck Using a coaching approach called the Enlifted Method, we work with the words you use about yourself, your time, and your responsibilities. We gently uncover: • “I have to” and “I should” language that creates pressure and guilt • Harsh self talk that keeps your nervous system on edge • Old stories about work, worth, or failure that no longer fit who you are

We then rewrite one key story together, using slow breath and body awareness so it feels more truthful, supportive, and grounded in your system, not just in your head.

  1. Create a nervous system friendly game plan We close by co creating a simple, realistic plan that fits the life you live right now. Your plan may include: • A brief pre shift or post work decompression ritual • One to three daily or weekly practices that take 5 to 15 minutes • Practical sleep and recovery shifts, especially if you work nights • Small lifestyle changes to lower stress without needing to quit everything • Clear first steps for the next 7 to 14 days so you know exactly what to do next

You leave with a short, doable plan rather than a long list of “shoulds” that create more overwhelm.

About James

I am James Thompson, RN, a board certified nurse coach and holistic burnout coach. I spent years working as a bedside nurse, including nights and high stress hospital environments, until my own body and nervous system finally said “enough.”

Through my healing process, I became passionate about holistic lifestyle design, nervous system regulation, and language based coaching. I now support healthcare professionals and other burned out humans to reclaim their energy, clarity, and sense of self without abandoning their values.

Our work together is calm, structured, and deeply human. You will not be rushed. You will not be judged. We will focus on small, meaningful changes that actually fit your real life.
