Internally we are wired to protect ourselves with a "fight, flee or freeze" reaction. When we anticipate a situation that may put us in harms way, our brain releases adrenaline and cortisol in preparation to fight, flee, or freeze. This induces our situational awarness to a peak.
It is an amazing system, when it works properly. Unfortunately, for many of us, this system is triggered when there is no imminenet physical danger present. Which can leave us in this state of heightened awareness. Which is absolutely physically and mentally draining.
In our current way of life, we have learned to internalize our feelings, pushing them way down. And we've become good at it. We sit our desks at work or school, we show up for gatherings & events, with our hearts pounding, stress sweating and leg shaking and we have no idea what is happening or how to make it stop. When this becomes a regular occurrence, it is a sign it needs to be addressed.

What to expect in a meeting:
Sessions begin with an initial intake. It’s a one on one, easy going conversation. We discuss what sort of issues or problems you are currently experiencing, for how long, what your goals are for Hypnotherapy, and answer any questions you may have about the process. My goal is to make you as comfortable and calm with the process as possible. Once the talking is completed, we begin with a guided relaxation process using imagery, body scan and deep breathing to help you enter a hypnotic state. Some physical indications of this state are slow breathing, lower heart rate, warm & dry hands, and relaxed muscles. You may also feel calm, peaceful, and may have a "clear mind", free of negative, distracting or racing thoughts. In this state you will be aware of everything that is going on around you. You will not be asleep. You will hear everything I say, in fact, you will be even more aware of the things I say. In this state, you always have control. If at any time while in a hypnotic state and you wish to be fully awake, you simply open your eyes. Our goal is to bypass your conscious mind, which allows direct access and communication to your subconscious mind. This is where we determine the root cause of the issues. Through relaxation, guided imagery, positive hypnotic suggestions, and other therapeutic methods, unwanted beliefs or behaviors associated with the root cause can be reframed where they will no longer inhibit or cause you harm. Planned suggestions & motivational anchors will then be carefully placed which can assist in creating healthier and positive thinking and response patterns to help you achieve your goal. Because these are placed while in a deep hypnotic state, this may allow you to respond without hesitation after your session & in your everyday, conscious life. When your session is coming to an end, I will guide your conscious mind back to the present gently. You will awaken to a new state of mind and focus. Typically, you will feel very at ease, calm, a sense of restorative emotional being can wash over you. Some clients are often unable to wrap their minds around what was revealed immediately after their session. It may take a few minutes or even a day or two to really digest everything. I am always available after your session & in the future to discuss and help you process.
