“Healthy” eating. This term can be frustrating and confusing to many. And, just like all other areas of science, nutrition science is also always changing. There may be new discoveries about the human body each day, and how different foods affect our body, but there are important guidelines we can learn to promote a nutritious and healthful lifestyle around food. At all stages of life, nutrition is something we can control and use to our advantage. Food does not have to be complicated if we don’t want it to be. With my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, and a full year of a Dietetic Internship, I am capable of helping you find peace and understanding when it comes to your nutrition.
This course is 3 sessions long:
- During the first session we cover the recommended daily nutrition guidelines for the general adult, what this may look like for you (considering foods you enjoy or want to try), and an activity of creating a 1 week meal plan for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This activity comes with a handout that we can fill out together and you can keep for use in the second session.
- The second session covers grocery shopping. Grocery shopping will include making a grocery list, choosing where to shop, how to shop, and a few tips on how to save at the store.
- The third session covers food preparation. Food preparation will include proper food storage and safety, meal preparation, meals for one or for the family, and some helpful tips on reducing food waste.
This session comes without any judgment, open ears, and understanding. I am here to help guide you to a balanced “healthy” diet that fits your lifestyle and I am here to give you a few tips along the way to make your life a little easier as we turn these nutrition practices into a personalized wellness routine.
