But, the plain truth is that it's nearly impossible to wage any external battle if, as an individual, you are a house divided against itself.  

Oftentimes, self-care is discussed like this namby-pamby thing like, “Oh I’m going to get a massage, I’m going to get my nails done”. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with these activities. But, in all actuality, self-care is akin to taking supplements and eating clean to build a healthy immune system. It's essential.

But, Self-validation just hits different. This concept of self-validation also implies that it is my responsibility to give myself the stamp of approval first, lest I unconsciously seek it from others.
