In my town there was a 11.5% increase to everyone’s utility bill that was passed a few weeks ago. This is crazy especially since last year it rose 13.5%. This is roughly a 25% increase in the last year and a half and it’s even outrunning inflation. What makes matters worst is that this isn’t just happening in my town but at an even greater scale all over the country. We’re not given the choice to choose between utility companies as there usually are only 1 or 2 options in the area.
