Life as a new parent can be stressful - having a postpartum doula is an essential way to start your budding family at conception or once your little one has arrived. These postpartum sessions can tackle parenting topics before the birth of your baby and parenting guidance once your baby has arrived.
Working with me as your postpartum doula can help enhance a sense of stability and support so that as new parents, you can thrive. As an experienced wellness provider, you can rest assured that you’ll receive knowledgeable and experienced care to help you reduce stress, and parenting worries, and build on self-confidence and comfortability.
My primary focus will be on the mom’s recovery from giving birth, with my specialty focusing on emotional wellness along with physical recovery. I have DONA training and life experience to help you understand what’s “normal” and what is “beyond the scope of normal” when it comes to post-birth recovery. Of course, anytime something falls out of the scope of me as a doula, you’re encouraged to contact your medical provider to navigate the issue further. In addition to maternal wellness and integrating the baby into the family structure, is to help maintain and deepen the connections you have that already exist with your partner, children, and even yourself.
Some ways to do that are to assist you with adjusting to life with baby outside of the womb and now as a joyful addition to your family. This includes comfortability, feeding, sleeping, hygiene, and bonding. As a DONA-trained, Lifespan Doula certified postpartum doula (and mom of four myself) I am equipped to make the transition a little smoother, less stressful, and more supported.
While these sessions are virtual, I am happy to do in-person sessions within a 25-mile radius from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Remotely, it is still possible to focus on other areas that can help make this season of life easier such as meal prepping, decluttering, organization, and creating a plan to transition back to work. In person, I would like to add light housekeeping, errand running, and hands-on help to promote rest, self-care, and connection.
