Professional Biography
From a young age, I struggled with body image and began experimenting with diets as early as age 12. Despite being only slightly overweight, I saw myself as “fat” and unattractive—a mindset that stayed with me throughout my teenage years. At 19, I pursued certification as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer, believing that fitness would be the solution to my body image concerns. While I discovered a passion for helping others reach their goals, I also fell into the trap of exercise addiction, often training for 4–6 hours a day. Though I achieved weight loss, it came at the cost of recurring injuries, burnout, and an unhealthy relationship with food and my body.
As I gained experience in the fitness industry, I continued to suffer physically and emotionally. Injuries—including torn menisci, a torn ACL, chronic joint pain, and fatigue—were frequent, and I often turned to sugar for comfort, which led to cycles of energy crashes, emotional instability, and depression. Despite the knowledge and tools I used to help others, I struggled to apply them to my own life.
Alongside my fitness journey, I was also building a career in education. I have spent 30 years as an elementary school teacher, all while battling the internal pressure to maintain an intense exercise routine. My physical and mental energy were constantly divided between my students and my obsession with food and fitness. I could coach others toward healthy habits, yet I couldn’t implement them for myself.
Over time, I began to notice a troubling pattern among my fellow educators: burnout, physical ailments, emotional isolation, and spiritual fatigue. It became clear that the very issues I had battled silently were affecting those around me too. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it only magnified these struggles. Teaching remotely provided the space I needed to pause, reflect, and confront my own lifestyle. It was then that I felt called to make a permanent change.
I enrolled in the School of Christian Health and Nutrition, where I learned how to cultivate a life of balance, healing, and nourishment rooted in God’s design. Today, I am a Certified Christian Health Coach Practitioner (CHP), passionate about helping others find freedom from food and fitness bondage. My mission is to support individuals—especially educators—who are ready to reclaim their health, renew their minds, and pursue wholeness.
I now live a life of moderation and mindfulness, free from the compulsions that once controlled me. I offer coaching that empowers others to make sustainable changes and live the vibrant, purposeful life they were created for.
