What is Coaching?
Coaching is a process of discovery where you have space to explore what you want, how to reach your goals, and work through any obstacles along the way. My coaching philosophy is that you are the expert of yourself and of your body. My job is not to fix you, tell you what you need to do, or define your goals for you. I have a lot of knowledge about health and the body that I am happy to share along the way but I am still not the expert. A lot of coaches try to be the GPS, telling you what direction to go with turn by turn directions. I like to think of my style of coaching more like you are in the driver's seat, choosing where to go, and I will give occasional observations of the scenery and if there is construction ahead.
What Can You Expect from a Coaching Call?
Each coaching call will be 60 minutes long and will focus on what you want to work on. During our first call, we get to know each other, you can ask me any questions you want, and we start to define your goals for our work together. From there, we will journey on to help you be the best version of yourself. Six sessions is the average amount of time it takes to make significant progress on your goals and start to see the outcomes you are desiring.
Examples of Coaching Topics:
- Finding a healthy weight for you
- Getting back to sport/exercise after an injury
- Reaching new health goals (e.g. training for a triathlon or going to the gym for the first time)
- Wellness while managing a chronic health condition
- the list goes on!
