As a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach I have honed my skills to educate, empower and guide clients on integrating small shifts to their lifestyle and eating habits with results that lead to better metabolism, reduced stress, increased energy, balanced cravings and overall improved health and wellbeing. I come to this line of work with firsthand experience of how the storms of life derail your center of gravity. In 2009, I turned over my corporate event planner hat to raise children full-time. Needless to say the course came with its own demands and humbling experiences. Shifting gears into motherhood and head of household is not for the faint of heart. The real test began in 2012 when my second child and daughter Caitlyn was born and then directly admitted to the NICU with multiple health challenges, including food allergies and severe colic. Through this, I also battled my invisible illness of chronic Lyme Disease. Through these experiences, I took a deep dive into creating a lifestyle of holistic well-being for myself and my family. Healing is not linear, and we are our own best advocates to find what we need. Throughout this journey, I discovered the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) Coaching program. Instinctively, I knew this was the next chapter. My eagerness for servicing the human connection and passion for food, cooking and wellness were finally united. Furthering my thirst for knowledge, I've subsequently become board-certified through the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches~ a pioneer in setting the standard for wellness coaches. I’ve also taken specialty courses in behavior/habit change, meditation, and mindfulness practices, Positive Intelligence, Gut/ Hormone health protocols which all are a model of how our health is rooted in our systems. Daily habits and the gut microbiome ultimately set the tone for our mind-body-spirit connection.
The heart of my practice and skill set has always stemmed in the kitchen, cooking and creating and channeling my energy through recipe development for healthy meals. Particularly for those who suffered from autoimmune diseases, and food allergies. I also collaborate with naturopathic, integrative medical practitioners, as well as, gastroenterologists to consult and coach their patients in a 1:1 live format. These clients benefited from my nutrition and food expertise to make lifestyle and dietary changes to avoid, reduce chronic inflammation and/or discontinue medication for cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, and blood pressure. I also advanced my knowledge of gut and hormone health through IIN by completing a 6-month focus alumni class for each subject.
I furthered my knowledge of weight loss and gut health protocols through my work experience at Noom, Betr and Cleo. To create a safe space for those generative moments that lead to sustainable habit change, one must first build the rapport to feel seen and heard. I’ve been told by many clients that I create a non-judgmental, supportive, and encouraging environment to explore and experiment with new ideas and strategies for their nutrition.
Let me help you breakdown the overwhelm and take those action steps to heal.
