Do you feel anxious or overwhelmed? Stress can cause us to feel on edge, nervous or hypervigilant. When we're chronically stressed for a while, we can also end up feeling shut down, depressed, or even burned out.
Stress can contribute to many additional problems. Are you having difficulty sleeping? Do you find yourself overindulging on comfort foods? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you feel too overwhelmed to prioritize self-care? Are you feeling irritable or moody and snap at your co-workers, partner, or kids? Do you feel exhausted physically or emotionally and like you just need a break?
Life is stressful and can bring challenges related to finances, relationships, work pressures, and much more. No matter what is causing the stress, your body is responding as if you're under threat.
When your body goes into stress response (fight, flight, or freeze), it's your nervous system's way of trying to protect you. It's interpreting the situation you're experiencing and/or your thoughts as a threat to your safety or wellbeing.
If you have a history of past trauma (and the truth is that all of us have had some level of trauma), it can be even more difficult to manage your stress or you may get stressed or overwhelmed more easily.
We can't always change the external stressors, but we can change how we respond. EFT Tapping is a mind-body modality that allows you to reduce the intensity of stress or unpleasant emotions. It can also help heal past trauma so you no longer feel so easily triggered.
Perhaps you've seen people practice EFT Tapping on social media channels. Maybe you've even tried it. Following scripts or using generalized phrases doesn't usually get the results you're looking for. For EFT Tapping to be effective, we need to focus on specific events.
I am trained in trauma-informed, clinical EFT which is more effective and is practiced in a way that keeps you safe. In fact, you may not even need to share the details of traumas you'd like to heal.
When I work with a new client, we don't even start with past trauma. We begin with the issues that are causing you stress in your current life. We will focus on the specific stressors, limiting beliefs, or other issues that are causing you to feel worried, anxious, angry, frustrated, disappointed, sad, confused, stuck or any other unpleasant emotion.
