Reiki, a Japanese healing practice developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century, is based on the belief that a universal life force energy flows through all living beings. This energy, often referred to as "ki" or "chi," can become blocked or disrupted, leading to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances. Reiki practitioners use their hands or intention to channel this healing energy to restore balance and promote well-being.
In distant Reiki, I send healing energy to the recipient without physical contact. This is accomplished through intention and visualization, guided by the belief that energy is not constrained by physical boundaries. I often use symbols, mantras, or meditation techniques to focus my intention and connect with the recipient’s energy.
Distant Reiki offers an alternative approach to traditional Reiki, providing a means of healing that is accessible regardless of location. It highlights the belief in the interconnectedness of all beings and the possibility of healing through intention and energy transmission. Whether or not one subscribes to the metaphysical aspects of Reiki, many find value in the practice as a tool for relaxation, stress reduction, and emotional support.
