Greetings Students and Parents,
This is an education-focused set of classes to aid students from Elementary school through college who may be struggling with homework completion or studying and information retention. While the focus will be on the students, parents are encouraged to participate, especially for the K-12 students. If they desire I do allow high schoolers to do this solo.
I do stress that this is not tutoring. I do not offer tutoring.
What this set of classes teaches is healthy homework and study habits. Topics that may be covered include: Time Management, Taking Breaks, Self-Talk, Use of Highlighting and Margin Notes, Identifying Subject Matter Trouble Spots, and How to Study/Review before Tests/Quizzes.
More about myself: I graduated from Radford University having obtained my Bachelor of Social Work [BSW] degree, and Master of Social Work [MSW] degree. In the past, I have held active clinical licenses in Virginia and Washington D.C. Throughout my career, I have obtained training and gained several certifications. I became a certified Chicago Parent Program trainer in 2012, an Internal Behavioral Health Consultant/Coach in 2015, and earned my certification as a CBT Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach in 2024. I have been helping others make the changes they desire utilizing therapy and life coaching, since 2007.
I look forward to helping students and parents feel more comfortable and secure in their studying and homework needs.
