PTSD can make life a struggle. It can mean trouble with sleeping, going out in public and/or being around others, difficulties with flashbacks and even just being stuck in your head. You don't have to deal with this alone. Together we can start or maintain a skills-building journey that puts you feeling more in control again.
This journey will include exploring your internal thoughts and external triggers. We will be looking into your self-talk before, during, and after a trigger event has occurred. Together we will work on skills like mindful self-talk, grounding skills, sleep hygiene, and more to be your tools and aids in your daily life. The goal is to help you gain confidence in your tools and abilities to respond to your needs.
More about myself: I graduated from Radford University having obtained my Bachelor of Social Work [BSW] degree, and Master of Social Work [MSW] degree. In the past, I have held active clinical licenses in Virginia and Washington D.C. Throughout my career, I have obtained training and gained several certifications. I became a certified Chicago Parent Program trainer in 2012, an Internal Behavioral Health Consultant/Coach in 2015, and earned my certification as a CBT Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach in 2024. I have been helping others make the changes they desire through therapy and life coaching, since 2007.
Again I stress that you aren't alone. Together we will work hard so you feel more comfortable in your skin and more able to respond to your needs when a trigger happens.
