Embark on an evolutionary journey towards holistic well-being in this Yoga & Healing Therapy session, where you will be guided through tailored flows that seek to meet your desired intention(s) for the time we spend together. Each flow will be 45-50 minutes long and end with a prayer/meditation to seal the practice and further amplify spiritual healing.
Yoga & Healing Therapy in a Nutshell:
Initial Assessment: The session usually begins with an initial assessment where your health history, current concerns, and goals for the sessions are discussed.
Customized Yoga Practices: Based on the assessment, sessions are designed to address your specific needs and goals. For example, I have designed classes for heart- and hip-opening to release trapped emotions and tension. This typically includes a combination of breathwork (pranayama), yoga postures (asanas), yin/restorative exercises, and/or meditation.
Therapeutic Focus: Private yoga therapy sessions often address the most pressing therapeutic benefits for the individual such as pain relief, stress reduction, flexibility improvement, and emotional healing. I incorporate poses from various yoga styles such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa to not only build physical strength but move with intention and purpose, strengthening one's mind as well.
Mind-Body Connection: You will be encouraged to develop awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations influence your overall wellbeing. This holistic approach aims to promote balance and harmony in all aspects of life.
Progress Monitoring: Throughout the sessions, I monitor your progress and adjust the practices as needed. Progressions and regressions are employed as necessary to ensure continued improvement and address any challenges that arise.
Empowerment and Education: Clients typically leave with great education about themselves as well as yoga and empowerment to keep exploring the benefits of yoga, even off their mats. Clients gain insight into the basic principles of yoga, mindfulness, self-care, and lifestyle adjustments that support overall health and wellbeing.
Safe and Supportive Environment: Safe practice is most important along with respecting your pace and comfort level. I will provide guidance and encouragement, fostering a trusting relationship that allows for open communication and exploration.
Integration into Daily Life: The ultimate goal of private yoga therapy is to empower clients to integrate the benefits of yoga into their daily life. This may involve creating a home practice routine, incorporating mindfulness into daily activities and/or work-life, and applying yoga principles to manage stress and maintain wellness.
