Did you know that nearly 84% of Americans are prediabetic and don't know it?
Seven out of the top ten causes of death for Americans are chronic disease, and most of them are tied to dysfunctional blood sugar
There are an estimated 96 million Americans with prediabetes; 70 percent of these people will be diabetic within ten years
To say there is an epidemic involving blood sugar dysfunction is an understatement. During your time with Emily, she will teach you how to build a balanced plate in support of a healthy blood sugar. Emily believes this is a foundational skill set that can be applied to any meal, anywhere. Emily utilizes her background in holistic health and functional nutrition to educate and empower others to take control of their nutrition in a way that feels good. She also utilizes her Master’s level background in mental health to support clients in understanding how their thoughts may be driving their nutritional choices and strategies to build awareness, reframe, and rewire within one’s relationship with food.
With a balanced blood sugar comes restored energy, improved focus, leveled mood, better quality sleep, decreased cravings, weight loss, and prevents long term metabolic dysfunction and disease. The list of benefits to supporting your blood sugar, both in a physical and mental health capacity, are limitless.
How many of us feel confused on WHAT to eat in order to ‘eat healthier?’ Emily doesn’t believe in restriction or calorie counting - she believes in fueling the body with real whole foods and the rest will take care of itself. When you begin to eat more healthful, more nutrient dense foods, it is much easier to crowd out the foods that are less nourishing and less healthful along the way. The process becomes much easier when your body begins to respond BETTER - through reduced symptomology and improved functioning.
Emily’s approach is likely something you haven’t heard before - why? Because her approach is rooted in a lifestyle-focused mentality, versus what we oftentimes find in our culture, a more diet-focused, time-restricted approach. This is where we have everything wrong - cutting calories, removing whole food groups, low-fat, low-carb, etc., etc. etc. This may work for the time being - but oftentimes, it results in binging, it results in a decreased quality of life, it results in failure - a common symptom of yo yo dieting. Ditch this approach and work with Emily instead. Health and wellness doesn’t have to be hard - unfortunately, we’ve made it that way.
Instead, take a new approach to your nutrition through supporting your blood sugar and completely change your life.
Emily will walk you through the basics of blood sugar balance, why it’s important, and how to apply her strategies to your own day to day meals. Each week, Emily will offer you expanded knowledge on how to best support your blood sugar, outside of only nutrition, and give you tangible tools to implement between each session.
Ditch the fad diets, and start to sustainably utilize nutrition in a way that fuels, for better physical and mental health.
