Did you know that 95% of disease is caused by or exacerbated by stress?
This statistic always shocks me. But, at the same time, it creates urgency around the need for us to explore the role of stress in our own lives - both stress that is in and out of our control - and begin to create a lifestyle that does a greater job at mitigating it.
Spend 60 minutes with Emily exploring how your stress is influencing your mind and body health. Emily uses her Master's level background in mental health as well as her expertise in functional nutrition and holistic wellness to offer tangible strategies and takeaways to manage your stress and cultivate a self care routine that doesn't simply rely on bubble baths and lattes to do the job. Self care is so much more than that. Emily believes that self care is the use of nutrition, sleep hygiene, mindfulness and breath work, movement, and more to build one's resilience towards stress and to eradicate the unnecessary stressors that impact the body and promote disease. What we oftentimes don't recognize is that processed and refined foods, sedentary living, sleep deprivation, and more are all stressors that drive up inflammation and promote suffering, symptoms, and disease. Truly understanding the mind body connection is part of Emily's philosophy and through your time together, you will walk away with a well rounded illustration of how this connection impacts us on a daily basis.
With Emily, you'll dive into identification and exploration of your stressors, awareness building around why and how they impact the body and the brain, and create a realistic plan in order to address them. The plan itself is met to meet you where you are - to truly identify where you are in your journey and where it makes the most sense to start. If you expect yourself to start at step 10, when you're only at step 1, you will never sustain your change. The change we're making here is for the long term, is to create a lifestyle - Emily is determined to help support you in doing so.
Through your time with Emily, you will feel empowered and equipped to address your own wellness through an integrative lens, as well as utilize essential mindset shifts in order to create sustainability in your routine. Stress is an inevitable part of life, but the psychological and physiological stressors that we encounter from day to day should not have the power to dictate how we feel.
Let's improve your quality of life by taking a microscopic look at your habits and routines, explore your dietary choices and relationship with movement, evaluate your sleep routine, and make digestible adjustments where necessary.
When we take control of our health, we take control of our life. Life is meant to be vibrant, to feel fulfilling, to be whole - let's achieve that together. Stress is a part of life, but it doesn't have to be in control of your life - I look forward to working with you!
