Intuitive eating is a concept in which you learn to eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. This will eventually and effortlessly lead you to your natural set weight. This is not a weight loss program but rather a different way of looking at eating. Those who have issues with emotional eating and overeating in general can benefit from an intuitive eating approach.
First, we will discuss the differences between physiological and psychological hunger. Deanna will teach you about the feelings chart and discuss how to keep a food/mood chart. You will also learn the natural cadence of physiological hunger by getting familiar with the hunger & satiety chart. Deanna will teach you what a normal ‘eating’ day looks like based on physiological clues.
You will discuss cravings and how to overcome them using the cravings clock and the CALM method. You’ll also better understand what’s at the root of so-called cravings and why sometimes you crave carbs and sugars while other times you crave salty and crunchy foods.
At the end of the three-session arc, you should have a thorough understanding of the concept of intuitive eating and be able to see a difference in how you approach eating daily. For those expecting rapid weight loss, this is not the program for you. If you want to change your attitude about food, come join Deanna on this wonderful journey. Deanna is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and has a solid background in emotional eating psychology. She runs overcoming mind hunger programs in and around Austin, Texas that are based on these principles.
