Stress Eating - Why We Do It and How to Manage It with Sherri

The numerous demands for our time and energy can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted and distracted on a regular basis. Turning to food for comfort is common but when food becomes our primary coping strategy, we are left feeling like we are no longer in charge of what we eat, how often we eat or how much we eat.
We all have triggers for emotional eating (both physical and psychological). When we begin to take notice of how we feel when we eat, we are better able to understand the full set of experiences that accompany eating, both positive and negative. Learning to use this information to reconnect with your body's signals around hunger and fullness can positively influence your future decisions and experiences with food.
In this series of sessions, you will gain the following:
* gain an understanding of how and why we eat when we are stressed
* identify your triggers and causes for emotional eating
* recognize when emotional or stress eating is happening
* reduce craving related eating and enjoy healthier foods
* learn coping strategies to end the emotional eating cycle
* learn how to practice mindful eating
* replace shame and self-loathing with curiosity and appreciation
* develop a healthy relationship with food
