Factors such as stress, diet, exercise and environmental toxins impact our overall hormonal wellness. This is particularly true at mid-life when reproductive functions diminish, and significant hormone production is taken over by the adrenal glands. Symptoms resulting from hormonal shifts in our bodies can be felt strongly, leading us to feel physically or mentally our of balance. It is common to blame the hormones as a causative factor for PMS symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, poor sleep, fatigue, low libido, and weight gain. One of the main reasons women suffer from these symptoms is linked to the adrenal glands. Your adrenal glands produce hormones that help your body cope with stress. Under chronic stress, these glands, which sit on top of your kidneys, become fatigued, impairing hormone production and balance. Without addressing the underlying Adrenal issue, your hormones will never be balanced without the aid of some type of external Hormone booster, such as HRT (hormone replacement therapy) which can have significant side effects. To balance your hormones and resolve your symptoms, it is essential that you also correct the adrenal gland function. The most accurate way to detect hormone levels and the output of cortisol is through saliva testing. This is because the hormone molecules in saliva reflect the active or unbound portion available to target cells and is more accurate than a simple blood test. The salivary hormones tested are cortisol, DHEA, estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone.
Your first session will include a health assessment to review your medical history and find out your desired health goals. After that I will mail you a saliva test kit, which is included in the program. Once you have completed the test and mail it out, it should take about 1-2 weeks for me to receive your results. Your next session will be to review your results with you and go over recommendations that support your findings. Recommendations will include supplementation (Medi-herbs, Glandular Support, Bioidentical Hormones), proper nutrition and lifestyle management. Accountability is very important for follow-through and results, so follow-up sessions are recommended. The third session in the program is to reassess, answer any questions and to help you stay on track for continued success!
