Healthy Habits for a Longer Life with Martha Kester, NBC-HWC

This is an in depth journey to building healthy habits that will last a lifetime by developing a wellness plan that perfectly fits your unique needs and goals. This package includes a free 30-45 minute consult. During the first session, we will discuss your vision, strengths and life's purpose. We will get to your why for wanting change and then set goals and an action plan. This session will end with you having 1-3 action steps to work on during the time we are not together (as all the sessions will end this way). We will meet via Zoom every other week for about 60 minutes. Each session will start with you highlighting what is going well. Each session is client driven as the client is the expert of his or her own body. Possible topics during these sessions can be around eating healthy, moving more, managing stress and setting up a bedtime routine and sleep environment that works.
Adopting new, healthier habits may protect you from serious health problems like obesity and diabetes. New habits, like healthy eating and regular physical activity, may also help you manage your weight and have more energy. This is key to living a healthy, long life. According to the CDC, 6 in 10 adults in the US suffer from 1 chronic disease and 4 in 10 US adults suffer from two or more chronic diseases. Building healthy habits and learning how to keep those habits going is key to living a long and healthy life.

I have over 5 years of experience with helping people learn to build and maintain healthy habits. In 2017, I became a certified health coach and in 2020, I passed the boards. Over the years of coaching, I have helped clients find sleep again, ease digestive stress and even get off of IBS medicine, discover the right way to eat for them and their families and a workout plan that works for their life. I have experience with helping clients find work life balance and reducing stress.
Not only am I a coach, but I am also a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching since 2011. When I am not coaching, I can be found running, lifting weights, teaching or taking yoga, being an aunt, hanging with my husband, cooking or playing on the water. I live in Beaufort, SC, where I was born and raised. My passion for wellness started in college and gradually grew and grew over the years. I have dealt with many health issues myself from depression to massive weight loss and gain, hypoglycemia, food anxiety, athletic bulimia and now hoshimotos. These experiences help me to relate to my clients and have even more compassion for them. I love helping people because I know personally that not feeling good doesn't feel good and can impact so many aspects of life.
