I'm offering this because I have been involved in such outlandish situations that exist when a family requires additional help. There is little preparation for this life event. My experience includes hospitals, homes, rehab after surgery, and hospice - all with various requirements. And Covid patients.
This session is a portal for people who need to hire a Caregiver/Home Health Aide and don't know where to begin. This delicate process is designed to help people understand the process and explore expectations. Letting a stranger into a difficult situation can be a huge stressor - so the more you get a glimpse of what daily life will be - the better.
During the session, we will cover important topics such as how to find and interview potential Caregivers, how to determine their qualifications, and how to create a care plan.
Having the experience myself - I will speak to the roles and responsibilities of a Caregiver, including ADL tasks (activities of daily living) as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management. Additionally, we will address the importance of communication and setting boundaries.
The session is a snapshot into the reality of day-to-day situations regarding Caregivers/ Health Aides.
It is important to note that the counseling session is not a replacement for professional or medical advice, it's designed to provide general information and guide the individuals through the process of bringing a Caregiver into a difficult situation.
