This is one of the areas of my life that I personally struggled with until I celebrated my 60th birthday. What changed you ask? I learned a few things while obtaining my National Certification in Health & Wellness that helped me to LOVE and believe in myself. I’d love to share these tips with you!
I spent most of my life walking around with a constant negative dialogue running through my brain. My inner critic’s voice was loud and at times debilitating. I hate to admit it but these negative thoughts did keep me from living life fully at times. That is why I am offering this session; to help you uncover what is causing you to hear that negative dialogue, learn how to shut it off, and replace those negative thoughts and feelings with self-love.
I’ll help you understand whose voice it is that makes you feel ‘less than’, ‘unloved’, and or ‘undeserving’ by using the Trans-Theoretical Model (TCM) of the change process. Once you understand where that voice in your head is coming from, we can help you to understand how to quiet the inner critic’s voice. This will allow you to hear your own voice loudly and clearly, feel empowered, and have all of the things that you couldn’t before because of that critic’s voice that kept telling you ‘It would never happen’.
• Week 1; using TCM we’ll check out your childhood and identify the voices that spoke your family truths and personal beliefs.
• Week 2; complete a personal strengths assessment and discuss your unique greatness, celebrate the things you are good at and acknowledge YOU and your amazing abilities!
• Week 3; Review affirmation statements, how they can help you negate those negative voices in your head, and how to create ones of your own to use as a daily practice.
• Week 4; Discuss self-care techniques and determine what ways you will show yourself love and compassion in the future.
• Week 5; the mirror exercise. This one brings it all home and will allow you to literally look yourself in the face and express self-love. This exercise is one that you can take with you and continue to perform for as long as you need to until you truly believe in and love yourself unconditionally. Until you accept that every human being has the birthright to be healthy, happy, and loved (by themselves and others).
I won’t say I never hear that inner critic’s voice in my head today, but I will share that I hear my own loving, gentle, and compassionate voice 95% of the time. And you know what, that’s the voice I want to hear every day for the rest of my life! You don’t have to walk around feeling bad about yourself; you can learn to love yourself and be healthy and happy! I hope you’ll let me help you get rid of that pain and feel self-love; it’s a pretty awesome feeling!
