It seems that everyone is taking supplements, but how do you know if the supplements are right for you? Are they of good quality? Are you taking too much or not enough to support health? Are they interacting with medications? Are your medications inducing nutrient deficiencies?
I have seen, multiple times over the years, where a patient is taking unnecessary supplements that were recommended by someone that is not qualified/ trained properly. Or where patients are taking too much of a supplement, inducing toxicity symptoms! For example, I quickly figured out when one of my patients was taking too much some vitamins that was causing migraines and nausea. Her symptoms resolved within a day of discontinuing the supplements.
It is very important to have accurate information when it comes to supplements. The FDA does some regulation on supplements, but not enough. I helped a patient identify one of her supplements contained wheat and she has Celiac's disease. Her supplement was making her sick.
The majority of your regular Doctors do not have the time or the knowledge to do a supplement review. This is where I will take the time to help you go through your supplements and tailor them to your health needs!
